Vintage Buffet Crampon Academy Model Bb Boehm Clarinet
$895

Here's a nice example of a c.1953 (40,xxx serial) 'Academy Model' Bb Boehm system clarinet by Buffet Crampon of France. The Academy model, based on my research, was an R13 with minor cosmetic flaws which was sold as an Academy instead. I cannot verify the accuracy of this, but it certainly feels and plays like the early R13's that I've worked on! The instrument is made of grenadilla wood and nickel alloy keys, posts and rings, with a bore of .575".  All pieces are original, no cracks or repairs. Its been disassembled, soaked in oil, swedged and countersunk, body, keys and posts buffed, new white Roo leather pads and corks installed. This well made clarinet is in good shape for its years and plays with a sweet, open tone and good intonation. Comes with vintage case in solid condition.
