Vintage Lyons Emperor (Buescher Stencil) Eb Alto Saxophone

A very clean c.1950 vintage 'Lyons Emperor' model Eb alto saxophone made by Buescher of the USA for the Lyons Instrument Co of Chicago. It is basically a Buescher 20A stencil and has a lacquered brass body and keys. It's in great condition for its age, with no dents or repairs - nothing that materially impacts looks or playability. Lacquer is near 100%, with straight tone holes, and the lion engraving is beautifully done.
Its been disassembled, washed, swedged and countersunk (to tighten the mechanism) posts aligned, tone holes leveled, rods trued, all tan leather pads (with domed metal resos) installed, key corks and felts replaced, reassembled and adjusted for optimal play-ability. The horn is a really nice player, with a warm, fat tone, surprisingly good intonation, and comfortable key work: would be a good horn for Jazz, Blues, Rock, or what have you! I'm very pleased with the condition and play-ability of this saxophone! The Lifton case is original and in solid shape.

All shipping is by Fedex or USPS priority with tracking (depending on the weight of the item). I can generally ship a sax and case for $30-70 - I try not to pad shipping. Antique/vintage instrument refunds issued on a case by case basis. Returns will be accepted within 5 days and I will issue refund (minus 10% for restock and cleaning), store credit or an exchange.
