Vintage Penzel Mueller Artist Bb Boehm Clarinet
$595
Here's a rare 1940's vintage 'Artist' model Bb Boehm system clarinet by noteworthy maker Penzel Mueller of Long Island City, NY. The company was founded in the early 1890's by 2 German immigrants and remained active until the late 1950's. They were one of the best of the American clarinet makers (along with Conn and G. Pruefer), and the Artist was one of their top models!
The body is glossy grenadilla wood with nickel alloy keys and a large bore of .590"! It is in great condition, with good tenons and chimneys, no cracks or crack repairs. It has been disassembled, soaked in oil, swedged and countersunk, body, keys and posts buffed, new white, Roo leather pads and corks installed. Warm, open tone, good intonation with comfortable key-work. I am really pleased with this instrument! Comes with vintage case in great condition.
